Real Talk: Detecting scripted and AI-generated responses

Willo's Real Talk feature analyses each candidate response and flags answers that may appear scripted or AI-generated, helping your hiring team know where to look more closely. It's designed to support - not replace - your own judgement, giving you an extra layer of insight as part of a fair and considered review process.

How It Works

Real Talk runs automatically in the background for every candidate response:

• Scripted Detection: Highlights responses that show patterns consistent with heavily rehearsed or pre-written answers - a prompt for you to take a closer look.
• AI-Generated Detection: Identifies responses that share characteristics commonly associated with AI-generated content, so you can review them in more detail.
• Natural Response Indicator: Indicates responses that show characteristics of spontaneous, conversational speech.

How to use Real Talk

Real Talk indicators are signals, not verdicts.

A flag doesn't mean a candidate has done anything wrong - responses can be flagged for a variety of reasons, including strong preparation, a non-native speaking style, or simply how someone naturally communicates.

We'd always recommend using Real Talk alongside the full interview, your own notes, and any other context you have about the candidate before drawing any conclusions.

Viewing Real Talk Results

Real Talk insights are available directly within your Willo dashboard. Each candidate's response clearly shows the analysis results:

• Naturally Spoken (green indicator)
• Potentially Scripted (amber indicator)
• Potentially AI-Generated (red indicator)

This easy-to-understand system gives your hiring team a quick at-a-glance signal for responses that may be worth a closer look. If you hover over the Real Talk indicator you'll also see a summary of why this suggestion was made. 

Getting Started

Real Talk is automatically enabled and requires no additional setup. Simply continue reviewing your candidate responses, and Real Talk analysis results will appear alongside each answer.
