How to enable camera and microphone access

We understand that some users may face challenges in enabling camera and microphone access during their interview, which can lead to frustration and delays. To help make the process easier, we have put together this guide on how to enable camera and microphone access on various devices and browsers. Follow these simple steps to ensure that you can participate in your interview with confidence.

Steps for a computer

When you click 'Record now' a popup may appear on your computer. Please ensure you click Allow:

If you click Block or Deny by mistake, click the lock icon in your address bar and enable both Microphone and Camera:

Once you have granted camera and microphone access you will need to click Reload or Refresh in your browser to continue.

Steps for Safari on Mac OS

Open Safari Preferences.
Navigate to Websites.
Go to Camera and Microphone tabs.
Change access to Allow.
Restart Safari.

Steps for Android phones

Navigate to: Home > Settings > Apps > Chrome > Permissions
You should see Camera, Location and Microphone in the Allowed section. If not please click into each and click 'Allow'.
Exit the settings menu and open the Willo interview link in Google Chrome on your phone.
Then to the right of the address bar, tap More (3 dots) and then Settings.
Tap Site Settings.
Tap Microphone or Camera.
If you see Willo under Blocked, tap the site, then enable access to your Camera and Microphone.
Close this menu and return to your interview.
You may be asked to grant permission to camera or microphone again in a pop-up - please click Allow.
You can now complete the interview.

Steps for iPhone and iPad

Safari browser:

Home > Settings > Safari > Camera > Allow
Home > Settings > Safari > Microphone > Allow
Open the interview in a new Safari tab.
You may be asked to grant permission to camera or microphone again in a pop-up - please click Allow.
You can now complete the interview.

You should also check that the camera access is enabled by clicking on the red camera icon (bottom left):

Google Chrome:

Settings > Privacy > Camera > Chrome > Enable
Settings > Privacy > Microphone > Chrome > Enable
Open the interview in a new Chrome tab.
You may be asked to grant permission to camera or microphone again in a pop-up - please click Allow.
You can now complete the interview.
