Virtual backgrounds

If you’d like to use a virtual background or blur your surroundings, your device or webcam may provide these features, which can then carry over to your Willo recording.

How to set it up

• Windows 10/11:

  Open the Camera app → click the settings icon ⚙️ → look for Background effects or Blur (availability depends on your device).

• macOS:

  If you're using macOS Sonoma or later, background effects may be available through your Mac’s built-in camera controls.

  While your camera is in use, look for the Video or FaceTime HD camera options in the menu bar or Control Center. Depending on your Mac model and macOS version, you may see options such as Portrait to blur your background, or Background to choose a colour or image.

  If these options aren’t available, your Mac may not support the same video effects. You can also check your webcam or camera settings for other background options.

• Webcam software (e.g. Logitech, HP, Dell):

  Many external webcams come with their own software. Open the webcam app and check for options like Background blur or Virtual background.

Once enabled, your chosen effect should carry over into your Willo interview recording.
